Obituary: DEPAUVILLE--Vernet Schnauber, 69, former supervisor of the town of Clayton, died Sunday morning at 11:40 in Mercy hospital, Watertown, where he had been a patient since Wednesday. Long ill, Mr. Schnauber had suffered a stroke in
August, 1959.A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Cummings funeral home and funeral at 2 at Depauville Methodist church with Rev. Clifford W. Sullivan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Depauville cemetery.
The Depauville masonic lodge will hold a service Tuesday night at 8 at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Schnauber is survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriet Schnauber; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Helen) Klouzal, Garrettsville, O.; Mrs. Norman (Barbara) Landon, Chaumont, R.D.; Mrs. John (Mary Lou) Charles, Moravia; two sons, Medford W., 323
South Indiana avenue, Watertown; Robert V., Clayton, Route 1; a half-brother, William J. Schnauber, Depauville; a half-sister, Mrs. Edith Baldwin, Clayton, R. D., and 18 grandchildren.Mr. Schnauber was born near Depauville May 18 ,1895, the son of William J. and Sarah Garlock Schnauber. He attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of the area. He married the former Harriet Robinson of Grindstone Island, June
27, 1917, at Sackets Harbor.A retired dairy farm operator since 1945, Mr. Schnauber had been active in civic, farm and fraternal organizations in northern Jefferson county for years. From 1948 to 1960 he served as supervisor of the town of Clayton.
He also served as assessor for the town of Clayton for years, and was a member of the Clayton Central school board from 1946-1948.
Mr. Schnauber was also a member of the Depauville Masonic lodge and served as grand sword bearer of Grand Lodge of New York state in 1949. He was a member of the Depauville Methodist church, a past noble grand of the Depauville I.O.O.F.,
and a past master of the Depauville grange.The family requests that contributions be made to the memorial fund of the Depauville Methodist church.

brothers died before her.Born June 30, 1895 on Grindstone Island, daughter of Willard J. and Sarah (Kittle) Robinson, she was educated on Grindstone Island and was graduated from Clayton High School in 1915. She was graduated from the Clayton Teachers Training
Class in 1916 and worked as a teacher for one year.On June 27, 1919, she married Vernet G. Schnauber in Sackets Harbor with Rev. Alexander Scott officiating. Mr. Schnauber, a retired farmer and supervisor for the Town of Clayton, died June 28, 1964.
Mrs. Schnauber was a member of the Depauville Methodist Church and the Depauville Order of Easter Star.

Robinson, 99, died Tuesday morning in the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, where she had been a resident since January 1983.A graveside committal service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grindstone Island Cemetery with Rev. Robert Mowatt officiating. Donations may be made to the Clayton Volunteer Ambulance Fund or to the Grindstone Island Flower fund.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by a daughter, Isabell M. Veley, Ottawa; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, William Smith, Mannsville; two nieces, and a nephew.
Two daughters, Helen Calhoun and Mildred Elliott; a brother, Ernest Smith, and a sister, Lucy Ferrard, died before her.
Born Sept. 18, 1886, in Gananoque, Ont., a daughter of William and Annie Smith, she married Willard J. Robinson in 1916 in Gananoque. He died in October 1931.

When asked Monday morning how she was especially celebrating, Mrs. Murdock replied, "Over the wash tub. We have had a big celebration all the week and enjoyed our reunion immensely."
Obituary from the Watertown Daily Times of 20 Jan. 1930: LaFargeville--Robert Lincoln Murdock, 65, died at his farm home near this village Sunday night after a long illness.
He was born in Clayton on Nov. 19, 1864. He had spent his entire life on farms in this section.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Lewis, Saranac Lake; Ward, Marine City, Mich., Richard, Marine City, Mich., and Wallace, Watertown; four daughters, Mrs. Ilda Robinson, Watertown, Mrs. Wilfred Ellingsworth, LaFargeville, Miss Mary

Obituary (from newspaper of Thursday, 14 June 1984): LAFARGEVILLE---Miss Mary Murdock, 86, of this village, died Wednesday morning at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, after being admitted earlier in the morning.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, with Rev. Richmond N. Hutchins, rector of Christ Episcopal Church of Clayton, officating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in her name to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or the LaFargeville Ambulance Fund.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nora Ellingworth, LaFargeville; a brother, Richard Murdock, Marine City, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Born on Club Island Dec. 5, 1897, one of eight children of the late Robert and Alice DeLancette Murdock, she attended Grindstone Island School and as a young woman was employed at the spoon factory in Clayton.
She lived with her sister, Mrs. Nora Ellingworth, in Watertown and was employed at the Holcomb Street Market before moving with her sister and family to Mannsville where they lived for 20 years.
In the 1970s she moved with her sister and family to the LaFargeville area.
For the past eight years she had lived with her nephew and his wife, County Clerk and Mrs. H. Ben Mitchell at LaFargeville.
She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church of Clayton and both the LaFargeville and Mannsville Home Bureaus.
She was also a 68-year member of the LaFargeville O.E.S. and was given a life membership in that organization.
