A prayer service will be held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the home and at 2 p.m., at the St. Lawrence Methodist Church.  Rev. T.J. Williams, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be made in the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Lucy) Johnson, this village, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Best, 227 Trinity Place, Watertown, Mrs. George (Grace) Bass, Syracuse; one son, James Phillips of Black River; nine grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Cornwell of St. Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Phillips was born Jan. 18, 1870, in the town of Lyme, a daughter of Charles B. and Lydia Tarbell Carey.  On Sept. 16, 1888 she was married to Jasper C. Phillips at St. Lawrence by Rev. H.B. Fritts, then pastor of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Phillips, a farmer, died Jan. 7, 1916.  Mrs. Phillips, always a resident of this vicinity, resided after that time with Mrs. Johnson.

She was a member of the Calumet chapter, O.E.S., at Clayton for over 30 years, and also a member of the St. Lawrence Methodist Church. She had been treasurer of the church for about the past six years until the time of her death.
