Obituary (from newspaper of Wednesday, 28 Oct. 1981): DEXTER---David H. Adams, 100, former Dexter resident, died Tuesday evening at the Harwood Nursing Home, Oswego, where he had been a patient since 1974.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Beatrice Clark, pastor of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Depauville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
He is survived by a son, Thomas of Fulton; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Kirch, Philadelphia; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Born on April 16, 1881 in Clayton, a son of Joseph and Susan Slate Adams, he was educated in Cape Vincent.
On June 1, 1918 he married Roberta G. Busby at the Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Charles Raynor officiating. After their marriage the couple lived first in Depauville and then Edwards. They settled in Dexter for over 30 years, where
Mr. Adams was chief electrician for the Dexter Sulphite Paper Mill. He later went to work for Niagara Mohawk where he was in charge of the BeeBee Island Power Plant. He retired in 1955.The couple moved to Philadelphia after retiring and lived there until they both entered the nursing home in 1974. Mrs. Adams died Nov. 25, 1975 at the age of 86.
Mr. Adams was a member of the Masonic Lodges of both Dexter and Philadelphia and was a mason for over 80 years.
