Obituary: Mrs. Bessie M. Barrett Holloway, 51, wife of Earl C. Holloway, 137 East Lynde Street, died suddenly of coronary thrombosis at the family home about 5 Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Holloway was suddenly stricken ill while preparing supper in the kitchen of her home. She summoned her husband and he, with the aid of a neighbor, carried her to a bed. Dr. W. W. Hall, who was summoned, pronounced her dead when he
arrived.Although in poor health, Mrs. Holloway was able to be about her home and for the past few days she seemed to be feeling unusually well. She had been afflicted with a heart ailment, however.
She was born in the town of Ellisburg, April 19, 1890, daughter of Fred M. and Myra Finney Barrett. She was educated at Ellisburg and in Union Academy at Belleville. She spent her early life in the town of her birth and in Dexter.
She was married twice. She was married first to Brenton C. Parsons of the town of Hounsfield, the ceremony being performed in 1909 at Sackets Harbor. They lived in the town of Hounsfield, where he died Dec. 1, 1919.
After the death of her first husband, she came to Watertown, where she had lived continuously since with the exception of a short period spent at Clayton. While at Clayton she met Earl C. Holloway of that village and they were married at
Black River Oct. 9, 1927. Since their marriage they had lived here.Mrs. Holloway was a member of the Bethany Methodist Church.
Surviving her, besides her husband, are a brother, Frank R. Barrett, Jamesville, and a nephew, Ross E. Barrett, 137 East Lynde St.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the home. Rev. Paul F. Ebberly, pastor of the Bethany Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be made in North Watertown Cemetery.
Obituary: At his home, in Chaumont, Sunday afternoon, June 12, occurred the death of Lorenzo Carey, at the age of 93 years 6 days. Mr. Carey had been in poor health for several weeks. He was born on Grindstone Island, the son of the late
David and Mary Carey, and remained on the island until his marriage, about 65 years ago. He then went to Canada for a short time, and then moved to Chaumont, where he resided until his death.Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank White, of Cape Vincent, and Mrs. John Odette, of Carthage, and three sons, David Carey, of Three Mile Bay, Lorenzo Carey, of Cape Vincent, and George Carey, of Chaumont; also
several grandchildren.The funeral was held at his late home Tuesday afternoon, June 16, at two o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Bradley officiating. Interment was made in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chaumont.
Obituary: from Watertown Daily Times of 3 Feb. 1923: CAPE VINCENT--Mrs. Caroline Carey, born on the St. Regis Indian reservation at Hogansburg at least 101 years ago, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank White, about four
miles south of this village. None of her children is exactly sure of her age. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.Mrs. Carey was married 60 years ago. Her husband died in June, 1920, at the age of 94 years. For the past three years she had made her home with Mrs. White and 20 years previous to that were spent in the homes of her children.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank White of Cape Vincent and Mrs. John Odette of Carthage; two sons, David Carey of Three Mile Bay and Lorenzo Carey of Cape Vincent; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

patient for six days.The funeral for Mrs. O'Dette will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bossuot Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery here.

Leaving 92 descendants, Mrs. O'Dette is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lulu Petrie, 668 Adelaide Street, with whom she had made her home since the death of her husband; Mrs. Catherine Lawton, Watertown, 16 grandchildren; 52
great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.Born in Norwood May 18, 1875, Mrs. O'Dette was the daughter of Lorenzo and Caroline Sebatis Carey. She was married to John O'Dette in West Carthage in 1917. Her husband was employed by the New York Central Railroad Company, later at Camp
Drum and prior to his retirement as a caretaker at Fairview Cemetery, died in 1952. She had since made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Petrie.Mrs. O'Dette was a member of the First Methodist church.
Obituary (from newspaper of 20 July 1944): Lorenzo H. Carey, 76, an Indian basketmaker and caretaker, died at his home here on Sunday, July 9, at 4:30 after an illness of about a year. His condition was not considered to be serious and his
death was sudden.He was born June 7, 1868, at Brier Hill, son of Lorenzo and Caroline Sabitas Carey. As an infant six days old, he was taken with his parents to the St. Regis Reservation where he lived for 30 years.
He married Miss Mary House, of Delta, Canada, in 1899. A son and a daughter were born to the couple before her death. He married Miss Fanny Morrison, Cape Vincent, in 1924, and had since resided here.
He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Miss Mildred Carey, Kentucky, and a son, Charles Carey, with the armed forces overseas, both children by his first wife, and Edward Carey, U.S.A., North Carolina; William Carey, U.S.A., Louisiana;
and John, Earl, Richard, George, and Mary, all of Cape Vincent, and a sister, Mrs. Mary White, Cape Vincent.Funeral services were held from the home at 10 on Wednesday of last week, with Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in the family plot in Three Mile Bay Cemetery.

According to George Halladay, Mary Elizabeth "actually left Lorenzo for another man. They list her as dead in (Lorenzo's) the obituary. When she left she took their new born son (James Louis) with her. They list two out of three children in the
