Russell Francis AUBERTINE

Obituary (from newspaper of Friday, 8 Oct. 1993):  CLAYTON---A memorial service for Russell F. Aubertine, 70, of 519 Merrick St., was scheduled for 10 A.m. today at the First Baptist Church of the Thousand Islands with the Rev, James Lewis,
pastor, officiating.  The body will be cremated.

    Mr. Aubertine died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday at Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where he had been admitted Sept. 20.

    Arrangements are with the Cummings Funeral Home.  Contributions may be made to the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department or the Clayton Volunteer Ambulance Fund.

    Surviving are his wife, Anne M.; three sons, Russell R. Jr., Williston, Vt., Stephen R., Clayton, and David A., Camillus; a daughter, Mrs. David K. (Deanna M.) LaLonde, Clayton; six grandchildren; a sister, Ruth G. Sullivan, Clayton, and
nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A brother, Elwin C., died Nov. 26, 1991.  Another brother, Francis, a sister, Margaret Longway, and a stepbrother, Alfred, also died before him.

    Born Nov. 24, 1922, on Wolfe Island, son of Euchare and Luella "Lulu" Favret Aubertine, he was educated in Clayton schools and graduated from Clayton High School in 1939.

    He married Anne McKinley Aug. 2, 1948, in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. George Racette officiating.

    Mr. Aubertine was employed by the state Department of Transportation, retiring as a highway maintenance foreman in 1989 after 41 years of service.

    He was a veteran of the Marine Corps, serving from May 17, 1945, to Aug. 19, 1946.

    Mr. Aubertine was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.  He was a member of Colon-Couch American Legion Post 821 and the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department.


Anne MCKINLEY

Obituary (from Watertown Daily Times of Monday, 19 Aug. 1996):  CLAYTON---Anne M. Aubertine, 66, of 519 Merrick St., died Saturday evening at Edward John Noble Hospital-Samaritan, Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient since Aug. 2.

    Mrs. Aubertine was a self-employed beautician and was a hostess at McCormick's Restaurant for 26 years.  She later was a waitress at Thousand Islands Inn.

    Born Jan. 22, 1930, in Clayton, daughter of Harold and Maude Dwyer McKinley, she graduated from Clayton High School.

    She married Russell F. Aubertine Aug. 20, 1948, in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. George Racette officiating.

    Mr. Aubertine, a state Department of Transportation employee and foreman, died Oct. 6, 1993.

    Mrs. Aubertine was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Colon-Couch American Legion Post 821 Auxiliary and the St. Anne's Society.  She was a volunteer at the Antique Boat Museum, the Thousand Islands Museum, and the
American Handweaving Museum and Thousand Islands Craft School.

    Surviving are three sons, Russell F., Jr., Essex Junction, Ct., Stephen R., Clayton, and David A., Camillus; a daughter, Mrs. David K. (Deanna M.) Lalonde, Clayton; six sisters, Mrs. Ezekil (Barbara) Guittierriz, Phoenix, Ariz., Mary
Schnauber, Depauville, Patricia Wagner, Clayton, Anita Rashou, Parish, Mrs. Stanley (Carol) Broussard, Huntsville, Ala., and Mrs. Ralph (Joan) Rimauldo, Camillus; six grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A brother, Robert McKinley, died before her.

   A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Daniel L. Chapin, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at the family's convenience.

    Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cummings Funeral Home.

Luella "Lulu" FAVRET

Obituary (from newspaper of 21 Aug. 1975):  CLAYTON---Mrs. Lulu M. Aubertine, 88, widow of Euchare F. Aubertine, died Wednesday in Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient four weeks.  She had been in failing health for a year.

    The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Cummings Funeral Home and 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.

    She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Francis W. (Ruth) Sullivan, Clayton, and Mrs. Malcolm H. (Marguerite) Longway, Clayton; two sons, Elwin Charles and Russell Francis, both of Clayton; a brother, Stephen Favret, Cape Vincent; a sister,
Mrs. M.J. (Verna) Spring, Greene; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Three sisters, a brother, and a son, Francis, died previously.

    She was born Sept. 2, 1886, at Rosiere, a daughter of Claude and Gertrude Constance Favret.  She was married Nov. 9, 1910, to Euchare F. Aubertine at Rosiere.  The farm couple lived in the Town of Cape Vincent, on Grenadier Island, at
Evans Mills and on the Black Creek Road until his death July 18, 1947, at the age of 73.

    She had lived in the village of Clayton since 1957.

    She was a member of St. Mary's Church.


Elwin Charles AUBERTINE

Obituary (from newspaper of Wednesday, 27 Nov. 1991):  CLAYTON---Elwin C. "El" Aubertine, 71, of 615 Alexandria St., retired village employee, died Tuesday morning at his home.

    A prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cummings Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Robert Decker, parochial vicar, officiating.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a vigil service will be conducted at 8 Thursday evening.  Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church or the Clayton Volunteer Ambulance Fund.

    Surviving are a brother, Russell F. Aubertine, Clayton; a sister, Mrs. Ruth G. Sullivan, Clayton, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A brother, Francis Aubertine, a sister, Margaret G. Longway, and a stepbrother, Alfred Aubertine, died previously.

    He was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Rosiere, a son of Euchare and Luella "Lulu" Favret Aubertine.  He was educated in local rural schools.

    Mr. Aubertine was a dairy farmer on the Black Creek Road.  He later was employed by the village of Clayton for many years until his retirement.

    He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
