Obituary from newspaper of Saturday, 17 Nov. 1984: Clyde A. Bamford, 86, Outer Coffeen Street Road, a retired poultry farmer, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday in the House of the Good Samaritan, where he had been a patient since Monday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, Rev. Leon VanWie, pastor of the Brownville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund.
Mr. Bamford is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a son, Larry D. Bamford, Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. H. W. (June) Morris, San Francisco, Calif., Eleanor Bamford, Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Richard (Audrey) O'Hara, Syracuse; 10
grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.Mr. Bamford was born Nov. 10, 1897 on Wolfe Island, Can., son of Wells and Evelyn Joslin Bamford.
He was brought to the United States in 1900 and attended rural schools.
He married Marjorie Sherman on Dec. 25, 1919 at the home of her parents.
Mr. Bamford worked as a poultry farmer for more than 50 years, retiring in 1971. For 52 years, he and his wife lived in the home where they were married.
Obituary from newspaper of Tuesday, 6 Dec. 1983: Hiram J. Bamford, 82, formerly of Skyline Apartments, retired house painter, died Monday afternoon at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Reed and Benoit Funeral Home, Rev. Walter Giles, pastoral associate of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemtery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred, Watertown; two grandchildren; a brother, Clyde, Watertown, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Hilton, is dead.
Born Nov. 24, 1901, in Watertown, son of Wells and Evelyn Joslin Bamford, he attended Watertown schools.
He had been a painter and paper hanger for many years.
He married the former Mildred Flavin in 1925.
The couple lived in the Brownville and Glen Park area after their marriage. They moved to Skyline Apartments a few years ago.
