William enlisted as a private for the Civil War in 1861 in the 84th Regiment, Co. B, and was later promoted to First Sargeant. He re-enlisted 24 Aug. 1863 in the 20th NY Cavalry, Co. D.
Obituary: Mrs. Eva Dorr Buskirk wife of Ned Buskirk died at her home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock of last week after three and a half years of suffering, being taken with nervous and spinal trouble from which she has been confined to her
bed during all this time. She has borne her affliction patiently and with a smile and ever looking on the sunny side. All that medical skill and loving hands could do to relieve her has been done.Mrs. Buskirk was born in the town of Orleans, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dorr, October 12, 1891. On December 12, 1910 she was united in marriage with Ned Buskirk of Black Creek. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church
of this place.

Sherman St.Surviving Mr. Buskirk, in addition to his daughter, are a son, Ernest H. Buskirk, Las Vegas, Nev.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 at the Poli Funeral Home with Rev. John J. Kelly, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions be made to the Watertown Northeast Sight Conservation Program.
Mr. Buskirk was born in LaFargeville April 12, 1880, one of twelve children of Jesse Noyes and Jeannie Cheeseman Buskirk. He attended schools in the town of Orleans.
Mr. Buskirk married the former Nina Esther Tracy Jan. 20, 1909, at the Methodist parsonage in Clayton by Rev. Elliott Cheeseman, Methodist minister. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Buskirk lived in LaFargeville where he was a
self-employed steamroller operator. For a time he was employed by the village of Clayton and the town of Orleans.In 1910, the couple purchased a farm on the Watertown-Clayton Road about two miles from Depauville which Mr. and Mrs. Buskirk operated for the next 30 years. During World War II, Mrs. Buskirk was employed at the Watertown division of the
New York Air Brake Company.Mrs. Buskirk died Sept. 7, 1956 and following her death Mr. Buskirk retired as custodian of the local Y.W.C.A. Mr. Buskirk was a member of the First Methodist Church here.

Volunteer Fire Department, and a past member of the LaFargeville Grange. He had operated a farm about a mile from the village on the Clayton road until his retirement ten years ago. After selling the farm, Mr. and Mrs. Buskirk bought a house
on Theresa St., where they had since lived.
Obituary: Edward John Buskirk, 72, of 608 Academy St., retired Evans Mills farmer, died suddenly of a coronary thrombosis in the House of the Good Samaritan about 5:15 this morning. He had been ill only about an hour.
While he had suffered a similar attack three years ago, Mr. Buskirk had been in his usual good health. On Sunday he visited his daughters at LaFargeville and Evans Mills and also drove to Adams.
Early this morning, he was suddenly stricken ill and a doctor was called to attend him. Subsequently, an ambulance was called to remove him to the hospital and although oxygen was administered him constantly during the trip, he failed to
rally. He died shortly after he arrived at the hospital.Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Dorotha K. Gillette Buskirk; three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Case, Adams, a teacher in the Adams High School, Mrs. Rose (Edna) Brady, LaFargeville, and Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Call, Evans Mills; five
grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Millie Bergen, 84, of Chaumont, and a brother, Ernest Buskirk, Watertown.Mr. Buskirk was born on a farm at Black Creek, town of Clayton, May 18, 1881, a son of the late Jesse N. and Jennie Cheeseman Buskirk. The early part of his life was spent in the town of Clayton and the town of Orleans.
On Nov. 29, 1905 he married Miss Dorotha K. Gillette of Pulaski. Mr. and Mrs. Buskirk lived on a farm near Omar and on a farm at LaFargeville for a few years. Later, they resided on farms near Evans Mills for years.
From 1919 to 1942 they resided on the former Peter Helmer farm, LeRaysville Road, near Evans Mills, which they had purchased. In 1942 they moved to Pine Camp, now Camp Drum, and Mr. Buskirk was employed as a stationary fireman there.
For the past few years he had been employed at the gravel pit of George Cook at Antwerp.
Mr. and Mrs. Buskirk moved from Camp Drum to the Pamelia Road, near Evans Mills, in November, 1951. They came to Watertown in February, 1952, and since then had lived at 608 Academy St.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. Rev. Roberts Mallabar, pastor of the Methodist Church of LaFargeville, will officiate. Burial will be made at Evans Mills.
