Margaret DORR

Obituary (from Watertown Daily Times of Friday, 17 Dec. 1993):  LAFARGEVILLE---The funeral for Margaret D. Schell, 89, Riverview Apartments, Clayton, formerly of LaFargeville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the LaFargeville United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Mark Pierce, pastor, and the Rev. John Klatt, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orleans Four Corners, officiating.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.

    Mrs. Schell died Wednesday evening in Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient since Nov. 9.

    Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  today at the T. R. Jetty funeral Home, Clayton.  Donations may be made to the LaFargeville Volunteer Ambulance Fund or to a charity of one's choice.

    Surviving are a son, Douglas, LaFargeville; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Dorr, Albany; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Vivian) Kendall, Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.

    A brother, Harold Dorr, and a sister, Bernetta Timmerman, died before her.

    Born in the town of Orleans on Oct. 9, 1904, a daughter of Charles and Emma Vogt Dorr, she attended Orleans schools and married Emmett Schell on April 2, 1925, in Redwood Lutheran Church.  Mr. Schell owned Schell's Garage in LaFargeville
until it was destroyed by a fire in 1960.  He then operated Shell-Dominy Chev Olds dealership in Clayton.  He died Dec. 21, 1968.

    Mrs. Schell0 lived in the town of Orleans before moving to Clayton.  She was a homemaker and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Watertown.
