Charles L. BARKER

Obituary of Charles L. Barker as found in newspaper of 5 Jan. 2001:  DEXTER---Charles L. Barker, 69, Hoefler Street, Syracuse, a native of Dexter, died Wednesday at his home.

    Mr. Barker was a mechanic for Onondaga Beverage, Syracuse, and previously owned and operated the Minoa Arco gas station.

    Born Aug. 16, 1931, son of Lorne and Rosalie Russell Barker, he attended Dexter schools and served in the Navy during the Korean War.

    He married Constance M. Spalsbury on April 10, 1955, at the Alton Methodist Church.

    He was president and a life member of Bridgeport Rod & Gun Club.

    Surviving besides his wife are his mother, of Carthage; a daughter, Michelle M. Barker, Ballston Spa; two sons, Charles J., Merrimack, N.H., and David, Newburgh; four sisters, Carol Pitcher and Frances Rounds, both of Rochester, Linda
Mooney, Groveland, Mass., and Norma Astafan, Carthage; four brothers, Dean, Fort Worth, Texas, Robert, Watertown, James, Great Falls, Mont., and Ronald, Carthage.

    The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse.  Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Onondaga Hill.

    Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
