Obituary: WATERTOWN--William O. Lingenfelter, 71, died Tuesday afternoon at his home, 206 California avenue, after a three-year illness. He was a native of Clayton, son of Obediah and Catherine Harter Lingenfelter. He had resided here 45
years and worked for many years as a mechanic at the New York Air Brake company, retiring three years ago due to ill health. He married Martha Hubbs September 21, 1921. She survives, as does his sister, Mrs. Martha Sanford, this city.

Obituary of John W. Lingenfelter, as found in the Watertown Daily Times of 12 Oct. 1931: DEPAUVILLE--John W. Lingenfelter, 80, retired farmer, died at his home Saturday evening following an illness of 18 days. Death was caused by a cerebral
hemorrhage.He was born Feb. 12, 1856, in the town of Clayton, the son of Conrad and Elizabeth Padget Lingenfelter. He spent most of his life in the town of Clayton, although he had lived in the village of Depauville the past 29 years. He married
Miss Lizzie Casselman of Three Mile Bay on Jan. 15, 1879, in the Methodist church at Three Mile Bay.Mr. Lingenfelter was a farmer for a number of years. Upon his retirement from farming he became a state highway patrolman, a position he held until four years ago. He was also an active member of the Depauville grange, No. 59.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lizzie C. Lingenfelter; one son, Arthur L. Lingenfelter of Depauville; one daughter, Mrs. Melva A. Dintelman of Depauville; two grandchildren, M. Ferne Lingenfelter and Carl G. Dintelman, both of Depauville;
one brother, Myron Lingenfelter, Watertown, and one sister, Mrs. Myron Daniels of Chaumont.Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at [?]. Rev. Mr. Walker, pastor of the Methodist church at Depauville, will officiate. Burial will be made in the family plot at Three Mile Bay.
Obituary from Watertown Daily Times of 28 Sept. 1945: EVANS MILLS--Myron C. Lingenfelter, 86, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his son, Fred Lingenfelter, this village. He had made his home with his son since April.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home of his son, Fred Lingenfelter, Rev. John Flickkema, pastor of the Evans Mills Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be made in the family plot at St. Lawrence.
Mr. Lingenfelter was born Nov. 15, 1858, in the town of Clayton. He was a retired farmer and spent his entire life in the vicinity of Clayton and the town of LeRay. He married Miss Nellie E. Dillenbeck in 1880. She died Nov. 29, 1937.
Surviving Mr. Lingenfelter are two sons, Fred of Evans Mills and Claude of Niagara Falls, and ten grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Smith Funeral home in Evans Mills and will be taken to the home of Mr. Lingenfelter's son late this afternoon.
Obituary: Mrs. Nellie E. Dillenbeck Lingenfelter, 77, wife of Myron C. Lingenfelter, died at 7 this morning at her home, 349 Arsenal street, after a long illness. She had been in failing health for the past two years, suffering from a
complication of ailments.Mrs. Lingenfelter was born in the town of Lyme Jan. 27, 1860, daughter of Alva and Amelia Dickey Dillenbeck. She was married at Chaumont in 1880 to Mr. Lingenfelter. The couple lived on farms in various parts of Jefferson county until
five years ago when they retired from their farm at Limerick and move to Watertown.Surviving are her husband and three sons, Fred A. Lingenfelter of Evans Mills, Bert A. Lingenfelter of 418 Arsenal street, city, and C. A. Lingenfelter of Niagara Falls. Another son, Spencer L., died July 19, 1913.
The body is at the home, 349 Arsenal street, where friends may call this evening and Tuesday. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from the home of her son, Bert A. Lingenfelter, 418 Arsenal street. Rev. James A. Leach, D.D.,
pastor of Asbury Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery at St. Lawrence.
Obituary from Watertown Daily Times of 19 July 1913: EVANS MILLS--Spencer Lingenfelter, aged 20 years, ten months and five days, died at 12:05 this morning in the family home, about one and one-half miles from this village. He had never been
very strong and his last illness had lasted since March, when he was taken ill at Detroit, Mich. Death was due to a complication of diseases, selatic rheumatism, pneumonia and endocarditis, being the principal causes.Spencer Lingengfelter was born in the town of Lyme near Chaumont and was the son of Myron C. and Nellie Lingenfelter. He attended school at St. Lawrence. Seven years ago his family moved to the farm near this village and he lived with
them.The young man showed an early taste for mechanics and he entered the Warner Auto school at Watertown a few years ago, graduating from there and becoming a licensed chauffeur. For several summers he worked as a chauffeur at Mexico, N.Y.
On Dec. 3, 1912, he accepted a position as automobile mechanician in the studebaker Corporations factory at Detroit, Mich., and was working there at the time of his illness. He steadily failed after being stricken in Detroit and in May
was brought to his home by Bert A. Lingenfelter of Watertown, a brother. He failed rapidly after being brought to his home.The young man was well known in this village and at Watertown, where he was a frequent visitor. He had a large circle of friends.
There survive his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron C. Lingenfelter of Evans Mills, and three brothers, Fred A. Lingenfelter of Evans Mills, Bert A. Lingenfelter of Watertown, and C. A. Lingenfelter of Youngstown, N.Y.
The funeral will be held from the family home near this village Monday morning at 11, Rev. William Excell, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Evans Mills, officiating. The remains will be taken to the family lot in St. Lawrence
cemetery for interment.
Obituary: DEPAUVILLE--Arthur L. Lingenfelter, 75, farmer at Depauville more than 50 years, died suddenly Monday afternoon at his home while attending to the afternoon chores.
Following his noon meal, Mr. Lingenfelter had gone to the barn as usual to attend to the cattle and horses. About 4:30 when he failed to open the front barn doors as was his cutom, his wife went to the barn and found him dead on the
floor.Mr. Lingenfelter had suffered from a heart condition five years, but had remained active.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cummings funeral home, Clayton. Burial will be in Depauville cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Lingenfelter is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lola M. Sherman Lingenfelter; a daughter, Miss M. Ferne Lingenfelter, Depauville, an employe of the Frank A. Empsall company, Watertown, and a sister, Mrs. Edward (Melva) Dintelman,
Depauville.He was born July 10, 1885, at Three Mile Bay, a son of John and Lizzie Casselman Lingenfelter. He attended area schools.
He married Miss Lola M. Sherman, Clayton, Nov. 29, 1905, at Brownville, with Rev. Mr. Bury, pastor of the Brownville Methodist church, officiating.
The family had lived at their present home on the Depauville-Watertown road since 1908.
Mr. Lingenfelter, in addition to operating his farm, was employed from 1953 to 1957 by the state highway department.
He was a former member, and for 19 years was financial secretary, of the Depauville I.O.O.F. Lodge 848.
Obituary, as found in newspaper of Monday, 25 Nov. 1974: Mrs. Lola M. Lingenfelter, 88, of 237 N. Rutland St., formerly of Depauville, widow of Arthur L. Lingenfelter, died at 9:51 a.m. Sunday at the Samaritan-Keep Home.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas J. Carlisle, pastor, Stone Street Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Depauville Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Miss M. Fern Lingenfelter, with whom she had resided, and a niece, Mrs. Carlton Gibbs, Syracuse.
Born in theTown of Clayton, Aug. 13, 1886, the daughter of Frank and Amy Blanchard Sherman, she was married to Arthur L. Lingenfelter Nov. 29, 1905, in Brownville with Rev. Mr. Bury, then pastor of Brownville Methodist Church, officiating.
Mr. Lingenfelter, a farmer on the Depauville-Watertown Road more than 50 years, died at the age of 75 on Feb. 27, 1961, of a heart attack while in the barn doing the afternoon chores.
Mrs. Lingenfelter was a past district deputy president and the oldest member of Valley View Rebekah Lodge, 304, I.O.O.F.

Miss Lingenfelter was a bookkeeper at Empsall's Department Store for many years.
Born Jan. 12, 1906, in the town of Clayton, daughter of Arthur and Lola Sherman Lingenfelter, she attended rural schools. She had lived in Watertown for 38 years.
Miss Lingenfelter was given the Outstanding Resident of the Year Award for 1974 by the Jefferson County Apartment Association.
There are no living relatives.
A graveside memorial service will be at a later date in Depauville Cemetery. The body will be cremated.
