Obituary (from Watertown Daily Times): HENDERSON, March 12---Charles Eli Hutchinson, 65, owner of the local Red and White Store, died at his home Thursday afternoon at 2:15 of a heart ailment with which he had suffered for several years.
The body was removed to the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held from the Piddock Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Dr. Harold H. Niles, pastor of All Souls Universalist Church,
Watertown, assisted by Robert Wolley, student at St. Lawrence University and supply pastor of the Henderson Universalist Church will officiate. The body will be placed in the vault at Woodside Cemetery, Mixer District, to await burial in the
spring.He is survived by his widow, one son, Donald C. Hutchinson, Gary, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Knickerbocker, Watertown, and Mrs. Grace Pitcher, Clayton; one brother, George A. Hurchinson, Clayton, and several nieces.
Mr. Hutchinson was born at Clayton, April 10, 1882, a son of the late Lucius and Mary Kendall Hutchinson. He was educated in Clayton and 28 years ago came to Henderson Harbor where he served for several years as captain of one of the
boats serving Association Island and in partnership with A. H. Kitts operated a general store at the harbor. About 26 years ago he moved to Henderson and purchased the store that he operated at the time of his death.On Feb. 24, 1921, he married Miss Mary Silsby, daughter of Monroe and Delia Silsby of Henderson. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. A. A. Sturgeon in the Henderson Methodist Church.
