    Enlisted in 1776 under Capt. Joseph Pettengill and Col. Weston and served until Feb. 1777 when he was discharged at Cherry Valley, N.Y.  Enlisted again in company of Capt. Dustin, Regt. of Col. Millum of N.H. Line and served until Feb.
1778; discharged at Kingsburg, N.Y.---Amon Trowbridge Judge of Crt.  His claim was allowed. He applied again under Act of 1820.  Family consists of self aged 58, wife aged 57 and three daughters dependent, Hannah aged 20; Merriam aged 19;
Lucinda who is healthy.

    His pension was continued.

    She is widow of Henry Gotman, Rev. pensioner.  He died 11-2-1839 in Pamelia, Jefferson Co., N.Y.  They were married 10-15-1823 by Horatio Shumway J.P., her name being Betsy Wilson.

    Adriel Ely deposed that he knew Henry Gotham was a pensioner, that he married Betsy Wilson about 1823 by Horation Shumway residing in Watertown.

    Osmond Bannister testified---neighbor.  Van Buren Co. Mich. Aug. 17, 1955 Betsy Gotham declared that she is the same person who applied for pension in Jefferson Co. N.Y. in 1853, and now applies for Bounty Land.  She formerly lived in
Oswego, N.Y.; removed lately to Van Buren Co. Mich. to be with friends and relations.

    Her claim was allowed.

As Captian of the 600 foot long freight ship the "Charles S. Price", William went down with it during a storm as it sank about 12 miles from Port Huron.
