Obituary (from Thousand Islands Sun of 30 Dec. 1968): CLAYTON---Robert E. Fitzgerald, 70, of 321 James St., died on Sunday, Dec. 29th in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where he had been a patient six weeks. He had been in failing
health a year.The funeral was Thursday, Jan 2 at 8:30 a.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, here, and at 9 in St. Mary's Church. Burial was in Clayton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edwina C. Rogers Fitzgerald; a son, Dr. Robert F. Fitzgerald, Heritage Heights, Clayton; a daughter, Mrs. M. Michael (Barbara J.) Potocek, Westwood, N.J.; two brothers, and three sisters, all of Clayton:
James W. and M. Edward, Miss Mary E. Fitzgerald, Miss Gertrude I. Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Louis H. (Louise) Leonard; and four grandchildren.Mr. Fitzgerald was born Feb. 21, 1898, in Clayton, a son of Michael and Mary Donnolly Fitzgerald. He attended Clayton schools. He married Miss Edwina Rogers in the rectory of St. Mary's Church on Aug. 24, 1922.
Mr. Fitzgerald was associated with the Mahar and Fitzgerald Company, with his brother, James, as a young man, and continued when it became the Clayton Coal and Produce Company, then Consaul-Hall Fuel Company, and finally the Hanna Fuel
Company. He retired six years ago from the Hanna firm.
Obituary (from newspaper of Sunday, 20 June 1990): CLAYTON---A graveside service for Edwina R. Fitzgerald, 92, will be 11 a.m. Monday in Clayton Cemetery, with the Rev. Kathleen E. Adams-Sheperd, rector of Christ Episcopal Church,
officiating.Mrs. Fitzgerald, formerly of 321 James St. and widow of Robert E. Fitzgerald, died at 6:20 p.m. Friday in the Edward John Noble Hospital Extended Care Facility, Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient since May 19, 1987.
There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made in her name to Christ Episcopal Church or the Skilled Nursing Facility at the Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert R. Fitzgerald, Clayton; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Barbara J.) Potocek, Clayton and Silver Springs, Md.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Two sisters, Annah Haley and Elsie Hall, died before her.
She was born Aug. 13, 1897, in Clayton, a daughter of E. C. and Margaret Martin Rogers. She was educated in Clayton and Syracuse schools and received a teacher's certificate from Canton ATC.
She married Robert E. Fitzgerald on Aug. 24, 1922, at St. Mary's rectory. Mr. Fitzgerald, an employee for the Consaul Hall Co., died Dec. 28, 1968.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was a home economics teacher in Clayton for seven years.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, a charter member of the church's altar guild, a member of the church choir and the women's auxiliary, and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Fitzgerald was also very active in civic activities.

Obituary (from Watertown Daily Times of 31 March 1979): GRINDSTONE ISLAND---Mrs. Anita C. Smith Faust, 57, of Grindstone Island, wife of Leo C. Faust, was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Syracuse.Funeral arrangements are with the Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 West Genesee St., Syracuse, where calling hours will be 7 to 9 this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
She is survived by her husband, Leo; a son, Frank Cleverly, Marcellus; two step-sons, Gary and Bruce Faust, Syracuse; five grandchildren; three sisters, Irene and Grace, Phoenix, Ariz., and Idelia, Syracuse anda half-brother Roy Finks, of
Florida.A native of Syracuse, her marriage to Fred Cleverly ended in divorce. She married Leo Faust in Syracuse in 1955.
The couple had been summer residents of Grindstone Island for several years and making the island their year around home last April.
Obituary (from Thousand Islands Sun of 16 June 1977): GRINDSTONE ISLAND---Leroy Harry Flanders, 52, Grindstone Island, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital, Watertown, Saturday, June 11, after being stricken ill on the island.
There were no calling hours or funeral. The body was to be cremated. Arrangements were with the Cummings Funeral Home.
Survivors included four children, Sharon, Sheilla, Roy, and Susan Flanders; his stepmother, Mrs. Eleanor Flanders, Clayton, and a half-brother, James Flanders, Clayton. His marriage to Eilleen Ernly ended in divorce.
Mr. Flanders was born in Utica Apr. 19, 1925, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Flanders. He was a veteran of World War II and had been employed in Buffalo and Ohio. He had resided alone on Grindstone Island for the past two years.
Obituary (from newspaper of 15 June 1971): CHAUMONT---Earl L. Fulmer, 75, Stone Street, died 7:17 this morning in Mercy Hospital, Watertown, where he was admitted Sunday. He had had a heart condition.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Becker Funeral Home and 9:30 in All Saints Church, Rev. Eugene T. Desnoyers officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Eva) Necaster, Granada Hills, Calif.; three sons, James, Clayton, William, Chaumont, John, Kokomo, Ind.; three brothers, George, East Rochester, Ernest, Fairport, Hiram Belleville; 16 grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.Mr. Fulmer was born Dec. 7, 1895 in Williamstowns, son of Edwin and Ella Patterson Fulmer. While a resident of Clayton, he married Frances Delaney, Aug. 26, 1918 in St. Mary's Church, Clayton.
The couple operated a farm near Clayton until they moved to Chaumont in 1949, purchasing a store and gas station which they operated until 1963. Their son, William, then took over the business. Mrs. Fulmer died Aug. 27, in Mercy
Hospital, aged 71.

After attending Clayton schools, she was married to Earl Fulmer, Clayton, Aug. 26, 1918. The couple operated a farm near Clayton until they
moved to Chaumont in 1949, where Mr. Fulmer operated a store and gas station.Mrs. Fulmer was a member of All Souls Catholic Church and of the Rosary Society of the church.
John J. Delaney, a much respected citizen of this town died at his residence on Grindstone Island on Sunday evening at the age of 53.
