Obituary (from newspaper of 22 Nov. 1999): CLAYTON---James E. Fulmer Sr., 74, of 16762 Lowe Road, town of Clayton, died Sunday morning at his home.
Mr. Fulmer was a machinist and diesel mechanic for many years at Smith Transport, Watertown.
He was a member of Colon-Couch American Legion Post 821 and the Teamsters Union.
Born May 28, 1925, in Clayton, a son of Earl and Frances Delaney Fulmer, he attended Clayton schools.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served under the command of Gen. George S. Patton.
He married Norma Lou Wiswell on June 26, 1948, at St. Jerome's Church, Rochester. She died Oct. 7, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Donald J., Tatum, Texas, and James E. Jr., Watertown; two daughters, Mrs. William J. (Kathryn F.) Smith and Mrs. Donald J. (Lou Anne) Bechaz, both of Clayton; a brother, William "Sandy," Chaumont; a sister, Eva
Necaster, Granada Hills, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.A brother, John, died before him.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Depauville Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph A. DeGroote, pastor of Clayton United Methodist Church, officiating.
There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Home.

Obituary (from Thousand Islands Sun of 22 May 1975): CLAYTON---John F. Fulmer, 40, of Kokomo, Ind., formerly of Chaumont and Clayton, died May 9 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., following open heart surgery.
The funeral and burial were at Kokomo.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorothy J. Fulmer; two sons, John M. and Thomas, at home; a daughter, Sandra, at home; two brothers, James Fulmer, Clayton and William Fulmer, Chaumont, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Eva) Necaster, Granada
Hills, Calif.Born Sept. 5, 1934, at Clayton, a son of Earl and Frances Delaney Fulmer, he attended Lyme Central School, Chaumont and enlisted in the Air Force Jan. 20, 1953. He served until he received a medical discharge in 1968, following a heart
attack. He attained the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Fulmer had been active in Little League baseball.His mother died Aug. 27, 1970, at the age of 71 years and his father died June 15, 1971 at the age of 75. They had resided at Chaumont and had operated a store and gas station.
